Mr. Sanjay Awasthi, a well-regarded member of the community, is the President of The Sugar Technologists’ Association of India (STAI). With a career spanning four decades in the sugar industry, he has served in diverse positions, progressing from Production Head to Plant Head and Chief Executive. Transitioning from the roles of a planner, designer, and chief executor of over 35 plants in India and abroad. Mr. Awasthi brings considerable knowledge and hands-on experience to the table. His extensive international exposure includes visits to all sugar-producing countries, enriching his expertise. This wealth of knowledge positions him to guide STAI towards a promising future. In Mr. Awasthi’s perspective, it is time for the Indian sugar technologists industry to receive its rightful recognition on the global stage. He emphasizes that it is the Indian sugar plant and machinery manufacturers who are at the forefront, establishing some of the largest and most technologically advanced sugar factories worldwide.
