K. S. Hosalikar is a senior meteorologist and climate scientist associated with the India Meteorological Department (IMD). He has served as Head of Climate Research and Services (CRS) at IMD Pune and holds the rank of Scientist ‘G’. With more than three decades of experience in meteorology and climate services, he is widely recognized for his work in weather forecasting, climate research, disaster communication, and public weather outreach across India. Hosalikar has played a major role in improving last-mile dissemination of weather information through digital platforms and social media, especially for farmers, disaster management agencies, and the general public. He has also contributed to national and international meteorological training programs, climate services initiatives, and research collaborations under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
