Pramod Chaudhari
Dr. Pramod Chaudhari is a pioneering Indian techno-entrepreneur who founded and leads Praj Industries Limited. A 1971 mechanical engineering graduate from IIT Bombay with a Harvard Business School management background, he established the Pune-based process engineering firm in 1983, driving its growth into a global leader in bioenergy and sustainable technologies. Known as the “Ethanol Man of India,” Chaudhari is a key figure in developing India’s biofuels policy and promoting green, agri-processing solutions. His contributions to the global bioeconomy have been recognized with prestigious honors, including being the first Indian to receive the George Washington Carver Award in 2020 and the first Asian to win the William C. Holmberg Award in 2022.
